About

Hello! I’m Michelle Tofi and I’m a freelance DOP/Director and writer. My work has been broadcast in the UK, USA and China, and appeared at cinemas in the UK and festivals internationally. Before going freelance I studied Film and Broadcast Production at London Metropolitan University, which I left behind in May 2011 having gained a First Class honors degree in Film & Broadcast production, specialising in cinematography and directing. I was a top 40 student and also received the university’s Recognition of Academic Excellence award on graduation.
I am currently available for freelance hire as a DOP, Director and Camera Operator and for the occasional film/TV Editing/Colour Grading work and specialise in Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer platforms, with skills in various third party applications such as Motion and Colorista. Cinematography is my real passion and where my skill set particularly lies however, and I love working with all kinds of cameras and in all filmic styles/genres. If you tell me a bit about your project, I am certain I can find the perfect visual style to tell your narrative in an engaging and creative way. My experience so far has seen me work with the following cameras, but I’m always training and looking to work with new technology: RED Epic, Canon 5D MK II, Canon 7D, Sony XDCAM EX-1, Canon XF100, Sony Z1, Sony HVR-Z5E, Sony PD170.
I am also available to write, screen-write, shadow and blog about almost anything you could imagine. I am a community intern at popular tech blog Gizmodo and have written several TV pilots and shorts. Recommend me to an agent and I will give you my mother’s recipe for banana bread. It is killer.
You can contact me regarding your project at michelle.tofi@gmail.com
